You might remember Chelsey and Michael from CSM’s first Engagement Shoot. This couple knows how to pick locations. We started our photo fun at Yorktown beach in Virginia a few months ago, and ended up in Hatteras Island, NC for their wedding. You couldn’t have asked for better weather for both days. On their wedding day it was a sunny, 77 degree day with a very comfortable breeze.
Chelsey and Michael are the quintessential beach bums. You’ll see that Michael actually rode his skateboard to the ceremony, and everyone was barefoot. They were surrounded by friends and family who were equally into the ‘beach scene.’ Giant pick-ups, jeeps without doors, long board skateboards, and surfboards scattered around the yard and house – they all let you know that this wedding and family was full of personality and passion.
The whole bridal party was really relaxed, and exceedingly happy. For the ladies, the day started at Spa Kora where everyone got their hair done, and Chelsey got her make up done also. Right by her side the whole time was her Maid of Honor, and sister, Brittany. Michael and his groomsmen were ready to hit the beach, and decided to whet-their-whistle a little before the ceremony.
Every thing was spectacular. From the violinist on the beach, to the sand-pouring ceremony, Michael’s mother singing the Lord’s Prayer, to the relaxed and casual reception party at their beach house. Speaking of the party – I have NEVER had such good food at a wedding! Hands down, best barbeque and cornbread I’ve ever had.
This was Common Spark’s first beach wedding, and we were honored to be a part of it.
Enjoy the photos,
