What an amazing couple! Patient, loving, kind, thoughtful, intimate; these are just SOME of the words that come to mind when thinking of these two lovebirds. Consistently pleasant, and extremely flexible – they are a joy to be around.
We started our journey with some pretty intense engagement photos – at the very location Zach proposed, it was below freezing on a windy hill overlooking Richmond, VA. We decided to cut the session a little short and reschedule for a warmer day. Little did we know the day we rescheduled would be the one day in May it was below freezing and sleeting! Still, these two were real troopers and got some amazing photographs. The photographer’s job is so much easier when the couple is has happy, loving, and as photogenic as these two.
The wedding day started with laughter from the previous night’s events, helped along with a few early-morning mimosas. The ladies got together to start getting ready and traveled to the Country Club by limousine. Su and I thought the limo got lost, when actually the girls just wanted to make a pit stop for more champagne! These ladies were AWESOME. Tons of fun made for great photos.
All of the friends and family got along so well – it was really exciting to be able to witness these two families become one. The excitement was evident, and the anticipation, high for the big ceremony. Lots of people came together to create a truly wonderful wedding, and the talent was just out of this world. It seemed like everywhere you looked there was something hand made, crafted by a talented family member or friend, made just for Zach and Erin.
Before the ceremony Zach and Erin wanted a ‘First Look.’ This was an opportunity for Zach to see his bride, before anyone else, and all by himself. I love instant photography, so I keep a Fuji Instamatix on hand pretty regularly – it came in handy here. I snapped a photo of Zach waiting for his bride, rushed over to Erin and handed her the developing photo. She was able to watch the photo develop in front of her eyes while I got a few shots of Zach waiting. It was a beautiful moment that could only happen once in a lifetime. We were able to get a few photos, but then we let Zach and Erin have a few minutes to themselves.
The ceremony was epic – it was absolutely gorgeous. Perfect temperature, no rain, beautiful cloud cover, friends and family all happy and anxious to see Erin walk down the aisle. After a reading, sand ceremony and a great sermon, the two families were joined in matrimony. It was a beautiful ceremony – followed by an insanely fun reception!
The reception was a blast – great food and music, tons of dancing, and of course the photo booth! We had a great time getting to know these two and their families! I hope you enjoy the photos! Get to know us more at http://www.FB.com/CommonSparkMedia -Bud
